MT. AUBURN – Ricky Jay Pascual, 19, of Mt. Auburn, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton with Rev. Collette Gould officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, November 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. and also 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Committal services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Rosehill Cemetery in Greene, Iowa.
Ricky was born January 19, 1990, in Lihue, Hawaii, the son of Edgar Aguinaldo and Nancy Malana Bacsain Pascual. He graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg High School in 2008 and had been a student at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, majoring in Web-based design.
Ricky is survived by his father, Billie Lint, Sr. of Mt. Auburn; his biological and step-parents: Edgar Pascual of Greene, Nancy & David Nadzam of Rochester, PA, and Carly Chestnut of Waverly; paternal grandparents Mila & Jerry Pascual of Greene; maternal grandparents Salvador & Felicidad Bacsain of Lihue, HI; five sisters: Jamie Slagenweit of Cedar Rapids; Tiffany Pascual & Jasmine Wong of Rochester, Pennsylvania; Jesteny & Shelena Pascual of Waverly; four brothers: Joseph (Gail) Ruzicka of Waterloo; Jimmi-Jon Lint of Mt. Auburn; and Justin and Ryan Nadzam of Rochester, Pennsylvania; two uncles: Charles Pascual of Greene and Chris Bacsain of Lihue, HI; four aunts: Lucia, Mary & Grace Bacsain and Mena Brissett, all of Lihue, HI; two nephews: Eli & Tanner Ruzicka; and one niece, Kyra Marie Nicgorski of Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Lint.
A memorial fund has been established.
